Max - a genetically enhanced human prototype - is trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic America. Life isn't gentle - the government is corrupt, as are the police along with pretty much every law-enforcing group. It doesn't help that she's being hunted by several groups - both her makers, and another strain of mutants. With the help of a few friends, she roams the Pacific Northwest to find others like herself -'mutants' that have also escaped from Manticore, the government's secret genetics lab. Unfortunately, after two seasons, Dark Angel was canceled - leaving the show on a semi-cliffhanger. Obviously, this hit fans hard, and has now caused a riot of Dark Angel FanFic on the internet.
